Untitled

Topic: LostLove

Running seems best
when the phone rings
and I know it's not your voice
on the other end.

I want you to call
and ask me what I'm doing.
I want to say 'I'm writing about love'.

I want you to ask if it's about you
and know that I'm lying
through my teeth
when I say no.

Hiding seems best
when you ask questions
without moving your lips.

I want to claim your body
as sanctuary.
I want to feel the rise and fall
of your back
when we move together.

I want to smell rosemary in your kitchen
and know that I created there.
I want to feel your hand in mine
and remember that your words weren't empty.

Crying seems best
when we are forced to part ways,
watching the distance between our bodies
become greater.

I want to walk with you
and see your body
next to mine, our image
reflected in the moon lit lake.

I want to hold you under our tree
and love you for all the things
that you said to me
and all the things
that you didn't have to.

Crying seems best
when the thought of you
is too much to bear
and memories won't let me sleep.

Dear Blu,
This is lovely. I have felt these things when my love is away. It is almost overwhelming to me.
