King of the Daisies

Topic: dedicatedpoems

__________________________
what a valiant heart he has
worn upon his velvet sleeve
his blue eyes see the truth of hearts
and he can make a fair maid laugh
with his wit and charming ways
he helps us pass the darkest days
we coddle him among our clan
embrace him for he understands
our hearts so fragile in male hands
he is the daisie's man
each one he consoles in turn
for all have been loved and spurned
he dries our tears and gives us hugs
sets us on our feet again
he is handsome, brave and true
a poet's heart he comprehends
for his words are heaven sent
we’ve chained a daisy crown for him
no better king could we hope to win
in all the realms of all the lands
