My Confession

Topic: Lifepoems

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My Confession
Oh Lord I have failed you
Yet once again
I put my own wants and desires
Ahead of yours to sin
I took it upon myself
To show her the way
Not by how I live
But the things I say
At first I couldn’t understand
How she could not see
Until at last I understood
It was because of me
I spoke of your love
The way we ought to live
Of your death and resurrection
And the life you have to give
But my words held no meaning
No power the darkness to fight
For being mired in my sin
I became but another shadow in the night
Oh yes she loves me dearly
And I love her too
But today I step aside
To give an honest view
Of the one who holds my heart
My life and soul in His hand
The one who loves her more
Than I can understand
Please forgive my hypocrisy
My misrepresentation of your love
Only You can repair the damage
To such a kind and gentle dove
At last I do what’s right
Give her to the One who should hold her
Father take her in your arms
Let her rest upon your shoulder
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I can love you no more than this Carla,
Russ

I'm speechless Russ, this is the most moving write I've ever read about someone's love for Christ ... you have expressed it in such a way that totally opens a person's eyes ... I hope that Carla is humbled by your words, as I am ... Jan

Moving. " the Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit." Psalm 34:18 I fill good for you, Russ. I feel a kinship too. God Bless.
