Erattic flutter in flight, colors glistening;
Perching on springs rosebud,swaying gently.
Movement increases as a breeze blows slightly,
bringing return of the air dance, bouncing brightly.
Captivating my attention, as would a friend;
then, disappearing quickly on a puff of wind.
Delicate beauty in insignificance, or is this right?
The value comes in viewing, the butterfly in flight.

Oh Lionel, I just LOVE this. Butterflies are one of my interests. I love to take pictures and identify them. I follow them all over the place in the summer. Thank you for making me smile again.

I too love butterflies. My GrandDaddy told me once that if you say a prayer when you see a butterfly that they will take it to heaven and God will make it come true. I have always chosen to believe that and say a prayer each time I see a one to this day. Beautiful write.
