No greater power
Then his power over her
Her heart submissive
To his touch
But now there is nothing
Only the cold hand of sadness
Of loneliness
Of death
She walks alone the river shore
Watching the water
Trying to find
To find the answers she seeks
So many questions
So few answers
The candle burns
Her grip on life
On love
Slips
The glow that once had been
Upon her pretty face
Is gone
Shadowed
But the cold stab of reality
Lost within herself
Lost within the grief
She can fight no more
Atop a mountain side she lies
Forever sleeping
Spring winds
Gentle and true
Blow across her grave
Eternally waiting
Forever remaining
Alone

Oh this was so sad. The woman in this poem I felt for her all the way to my core. I read it several times and each time it hit me harder. I can't congratulate you enough on this poem. Kie |
