Them as plays wi' fire arfen gets burn'd

Contributed by wrybod on Friday, 20th February 2004 @ 12:04:48 PM in AEST
Topic: Event

Oh 'oi ars the strangest tale to tell
'bout Dingly Down Dangly Dell..................
As 'ow the military thought 'twould be well
to set orf their "brand new fangly shell"
on Dingly Down Dangly Dell

'as 'ow they thought all would be well
to set orf their "brand new fangly shell"
as lets of a tingly brown tangly smell
on Dingly Down Dangly Dell

An' thars 'ow an 'orrble fate befell
they as were wingin' round 'angly well
as each sniffed the tingly brown tangly smell
on Dingly Down Dangly Dell

As each sniffed the tingly brown tangly smell
they lets out a "wingly goan strangly yell"
and each of 'em singly down bangly fell
on Dingly Down Dangly Dell

Anon.

The master writes with tongue in cheek,
Not for children, not for meek,
If wrybod entered ten a week,
He'd have me reading them real queek

BRAVO!BRAVO!AND MORE BRAVO!
Wiredbody......you are so neat..........they all fell on Dingly Down Dangly Dell.......they should have learned....don't shoot until you see the white's of them their eyes!
Wonderful Bob......simply wonderful....you've got that twang down just swell!
My brother and I received a old gun from the Civil war...we loaded it with gunpowder and stuffed it down good. Then we tied it to a fence post, and I wish you could have heard!
We didn't stand back far enough.....it exploded like one of yours.......and down we all fell.......on the pasture ground....it was very funny after we came too and looked around!
This is a true story....I know yours was too?
Loved Bob
More, more, more.....standing ovation to you!

Being American, I have no idea which dialect that is, but it is tremendously fun to read. The story is very informative and your work is always a pleasure. Thanks for sharing. I do agree, more please.

Rita
