I reached out for you,
I promise i did.
I almost caught you,
I felt your fingers slip;
I promise you i did.
But then i saw your eyes,
All that fear...
The fear i felt...
The first time you "loved" me,
The first time you took advantage of me
...up until you used me...
Then I could not help but smile,
For I rather enjoyed this new pain you felt.
I felt no guilt,
That was for you,
All the pain and sorrow.
Oh, look, I can see you falling,
And your tears leave your eyes,
they seem to come for me,
But then drop back to you.
Those are your tears...not mine.
You keep them.
I would not have cought you.
Not in a million years.
I would let you fell.
And I would sit back and laugh.
It was your own fault.

Intresting read! I love the fact that you were not ashamed to put these type of emotions in a poem. The honesty of it shines there greatly. Nice work! And while I have you here, I might as well tell you...That my real name is Darnell Brown and I am the author of “City Limits”, a poetry book that I’ve written (go to www.citylimitsthebook.com to check out my site, there’s a place where poets can get their work posted exclusively on their own page and maybe dedicate it to someone) One of the reasons I posted this message is to let you know that I’m starting a magazine called “When The Pen Hits The Pad” and it’s going to be a place where artists, by that I mean more than just poets but writers, scriptwriters, painters, photographers etc. where they can have their work out there for people to see and possibly put them with people who can help them get to where they want to go. If you are interested in being a part of our first issue, send me and email to thewordzwithin@yahoo.com and tell me what you think and what you want to summit Tell all your friends who might be interested and keep up the good work!!!!!!! |
