A piece of you in me

The day that you died was the day
That a part of me died to
When they buried you beneath the ground
I buried apart of me with you
The day that you died was the day
That you left me in this cruel world alone
And that day was the day
That a part of me turned stone
Stone like the monument
That sits upon your tomb
Stone like my heart
Where joy will never bloom
The day that you died was the day
That I'd never again be whole
But that day you left your memories with me
To hold forever in my soul
The day that you died was the day
That around me there grew a wall
But that day you also left with me
Many memories to recall
Ever since that day you died
I never forget what you epitomize
And all the things you used to do
Are my inspiration and my drive
