Lover Boy
February 18, 2004
Lover boy, the one I see,
In the shadows of my doorway,
Calling my name,
To come, come, come to you.
And I do, oh, I do.
Lover boy, today you have no flair.
What has given you this scare?
I never hear your voice this way,
Please don’t walk away.
And here I stand in quicksand,
Rapidly sinking and calling your name,
To come, come, come to me.
And you do, oh, you do.
My hand in yours you set me free,
We watch the sand dissolve,
Happy as could be.
But still your eyes are vacant,
Lover boy, tell, tell, tell me your troubles.
And you do, oh, you do.
So now my eyes are downcast,
To hide the tears from you.
I feel the pain I know you have,
And I wish, just wish,
That I could kiss the pain away.
If one kiss could mend it all,
I’d seal your pain with the touch of lips.
And in my dreams I saw,
Today is the day I must die.
I beg you not to cry,
And there you stand when I awake,
By my bedside holding me.
And you call my name,
To come, come, come to you,
And I do, oh, I do.
