False Expectation
Off into a vast star filled sea, my eyes gaze in silent wonder
At millions of celestial beams, flying destinely to their plunder
Their death granting a dreamers wish, once long ago selfishly made
Yet no sign of hatreds bore, as they flicker in predestined cascade.
Life forms built on hopes and dreams, teared wishes of forlorn nights
Portrayed as messengers of the heavens, deliverers to spiritual heights
Existing for the well-being of the living, an envelope for society’s greed
A reflection of the souled slavery and false expectation our world breeds.
