God of Power
God is He
The God who will reign
For eternity
The winds blow strong
The oceans roar
The stars shed light
While eagles soar
The roses bloom
Their beauty display
The birds sing for joy
While to You, Lord, pray
"Who am I
That You remember me?
'Twas Your Son that died
Upon the tree"
"My child, My child"
Said a Voice from above
"The reason I died
Was to demonstrate Love"
"I chose to die
That you might live
The man might learn
To love and forgive"
"I set an example
Of love and devotion
That man might see
True love's not emotion"

Very nice indeed ! True love DOES come only from God,no other person can love eachother the way He loves us.He died and suffered cruel torments for us.What more can you say?Beautifully written,

OH MY BRAVO!BRAVO!BRAVO! I throw roses at your feet.....you are the only other person I know.....that says he died on a tree....not a cross.......how wonderful of you to display this fact.......and your poem was exquisitely
beautiful in every way.
I thank you from the bottom of my heart for telling us that....it is so true.........
Love is not sex....not emotional...it's agape...which is principled love through and through

I really like this. It has a beautiful message. Even though I am not Christian and tend not to believe in Christianity, I like the idea of Christ dying on a tree. It makes it seem more.. I donno I don't want to say organic, but whatever. Wonderful work :)

At least THIS poem has no misspelled words, David. You're learning. |

Very powerful. Emotions are fleeting and too influenced by our environment. Love is more an overwhelming, all encompassing, unwavering, permanent thing that is out of our control. Your last line says it all.
