He draws a breath
Maybe his last
He reaches for his sword
That hangs at his waist.
The woman looks into his eyes
Memories forgotten
A Great One is emerging
That is whom she stands for.
Her sword comes down
Slices his skin
The droplets of blood
The pain that is felt.
He grabs his sword
And takes a step back
“What are you doing?” he asks
As there swords meet.
They draw to each other
Their swords metal together
“Standing up for what I believe in
And making you extinct.”
The man uses his injured hand
And reaches for his dagger
Tucked away
For enemies to devour.
He pierces her arm
The blood spills out
A tear forms in his eye
As she grabs the sore.
“Who is this you speak of?
This person so evil
Who will he be?
When the battle is over?”
Her sword drops down
The blade touching the earth
Her breathing is heavy
Her eyes so dark.
“This Great One.”
She says
“Will once again
Rule this land.”
She raises her sword to the heavens of course
Standing tall, she uses no grace
The man knows then and there
This love so true, gone for good.
“I will not fight you
I know you are true
This is not you
Our love so true.”
“That is the past
I will not lie
You are the enemy
And you I will parish.”
The look in her eye
The glare off the sun
Her sword comes down
His eyes are closed.
No pain is felt
No warm blood runs down
No heavy metal objects
To pierce his skin.
Opening his eyes
He sees his true love
Hands still raised
Frozen in time.
Her sword touches the ground
In a heavy heap
A cough sounds gurgled
Her eyes so wide.
A streak of blood
Runs from her mouth
She cannot move
Her legs give out
There stands behind her
A solider he trust
His sword embedded
Through her heart.
He looks to the heavens
High above
“Where are you mist?
Help will you please?”
