A War With-In

Contributed by MajesticPoet on Tuesday, 17th February 2004 @ 12:01:27 AM in AEST
Topic: selfstruggles

------______-----------

I am at war,
A war that is with-in,
What does this battle have in store?
Where did it all begin?

I am struggling with my thoughts day after day,
Arguing with my mind, screaming at my dreams,
Not truly knowing what to say,
A never-ending war, or so it seems.

I fight this demon that is not here
I fight with spirits in my dreams at night
I scream at things that are not even there
A war with in my soul I must fight

Loved fired the first shot
Hate soon followed with the first win
I have lost everything I never got
I have lived a lie full of unspoken sin

Agony follows my soul around
The demons try to bring me down
Waiting for my heart to hit the ground
Waiting for my voice to no longer make a sound

The devil smiles with his evil grin
This war inside of me breaks me again and again
My soul at battle with my mind
The end of this battle my heart will never find

Love steps in as an ally to my struggle of fate
Evil powers himself with the recruitment of hate
A war betweens two sides in one man
The battle rages on crushing my heart like a can

It is down to this one last fight
Make this all make sense before another emotional night
Will my love and soul shine through?
Or will evil and hate win its do?

Torn between two worlds at once
I did a lot, but did I do too much?
When do I become the tiebreaker in this battle of sides?
Never knowing the answer my heart continues to hide

I am so helpless now, and so alone
This road I am traveling is way to long
The voices lied to me, caused my innocence to die
I can will love to win this war; all I need to do is try!

Still I, can't breathe, something's evil in my screams
Cause every time I breathe, I think they are killing me
The path of least resistance,
That is what I must take for a better existence.

Show me a place, a path to go,
Let this pain of life disappear slow
No more fighting no more fears,
Life has to be better then these anguished tears.

Damn it, Maj! I wrote about the exact same subject and it was submitted just a few seconds after yours, making mine on top of the list above yours.

I wouldn't be so mad about this if your poem wasn't infinetely better than mine! Damn you, Majestic Poet!

j/k. Very good write. You expressed my own emotions better than I did.:)

Oh man, I am sorry bro.. I am glad you liked the poem and am sorry about the timing of the post.. That is weird I guess though, two similar poems, two different people, thinking the same thoughts at the same time. I guess poetry does cause great minds to think alike.

I hear ya.
Hang tuff and take it easy on yourself.
We're all God's children and he luvs us all the same.
Luv is what it's all about.
You need to find 4 giveness for your self.
When ones down with their face in the ground the only way to go is up.
luv, prayer, hope, huggs,
emy
Very good writing as I could feel your inner struggles.
