The dry heat,
the sweet smell of me,
the ever-so-light coat of sweat
covering the skin like a drizzling
of hard water,
the firm and soft spots
on my flesh,
the pillowy, the sinewy, the veiny,
the scarred, the bruised,
the internal machinations,
the elegance, the splendor,
I praise.
