My Son, the Gourmet

The internet is where you get instruction up the flue,
There is no task that you can't bask, in sun when you are thru.
They tell you how to fix a cow There's nothing they do lack,
If you are quick, they'll tell you pick a pancho for your back.

All these things I'm sure it rings remembrance from the past,
You had to fix a certain mix, they told you first to last.
All of this I'd hate to miss, but now I'm in for fun,
I'm getting here a child near, my number uno son.

There's nothing new he cannot do, his hands are tools of skill,
I say to him, the tire rim cannot go up a hill.
No time at all, he's on the ball, the tire's off the car,
The rim is taut, there's nothing bought, I'm better off by far.

So far so good, like Robin Hood, A hero to his dad,
There is however, not too clever, makes me kind of sad.
My son, he eats, and thus defeats, his economic worth,
If I would eat, just half the meat, T'would twice my normal girth.

I grudge him not, so big the pot, there's plenty there for all,
But I would fear to give him beer, for down the steps he'd fall.
I always say, he's here today, he just might mend the tent,
He surely would and surely could if ma'd not start to vent.

I love my son, he's plenty fun, mechanical to boot,
But mama said, she's nearly dead, she doesn't give a hoot.
She didn't raise a stomach maize, to shovel down a shute,
There's no more sup for this young pup, no matter how astute.

Good bye, my son, I've got to run..go fight it out with ma,
I cannot burn and have to learn..it's internet for pa.
If you have kids, removing lids from all the food indoor,
You know we're wrecks, you know my vex..he can't come anymore.

Dear Norm,
Now this some kind of poem I must say!
Your darling son being a Gourmet?
Are you hungry, did he eat you out of house and home?
I'm surely glad he came to visit.....made for you a wonderful poem.! *smiles*

This is so like my sons and grandsons. They all have very healthy appetites. Everytime they leave I have to go restock the pantry. I think they have hollow legs. Must be all the excess energy they have.

Whenever I read your words of wit
with laughter I do choke
You know I've two
who like to put my whole fridge
down their throats!
