Reflections of Her BrokenHeart

She sees with eyes
of shattered dreams--
Her broken heart
has tainted me--
Her mind, steadfast
remains on guard--
Her soul protects
her fragile heart--

She holds her hands
in front of her--
Her quest in hopes
for love defered--
She stands with feet
of ready flight--
She’ll flee if love
creeps in her night--

So I wait until
her guard's let down--
Til she allows
her love unbound--
Then of my love
and hands reveal--
There’s only truth
in mine to feel--

Put all my might
to her protection--
Turn broken hearts
to mere reflection--
And I -- my love
will not forsake
your gift of love
when mine to take--
