I often wonder how my heart’s coping in my chest,
After being through so many emotional tests,
It aches agonizingly through times of loss and sorrow,
And dances when there’s something special on tomorrow,
It struggled to hold up that huge load of stress,
And longed to be free of the love it possessed,
That love that once made it skip in delight,
With feelings of ecstasy, beauty, and might,
Then the one that brought that heavenly bliss,
Gave it to someone else with one spiteful kiss,
My heart then was infected with grief and pain,
It felt so much hurt, it thought it’d been slain,
My heart nearly died that day; impaled, crushed
Instead it ran away from me, its voice hushed,
Leaving me stranded with emptiness, a hole,
Then it returned when I saw him, so loud, so alive,
I’m glad I found it again, fully restored, revived
