One time long past the garden lived
It never knew just what it could give
Flowers bloomed and roses were red
Life and happiness the garden bled
The sound of children outside the walls
Hung in glory upon its halls
The children left and so did the life
So began our dear garden’s strife
Winter blew harsh and the flowers died
Nothing was left it was dead inside
The once red roses where now brown and frail
The life that once lived has now gone to hell
This garden I speak of was my own heart
From this word it sadly did part
What was a garden so full of life
Soon fell under winter’s bitter knife
This poor little garden is ragged and frail
The former beauty has grown to pail
But the spring will come and put this to end
For this gardens beauty was not meant to bend
