Trapped

Grief

I’m trapped, it seems
Inside my own head
The thoughts pile up
And corner me in
Voices echo through my head
Of people I once knew
I sit and wonder in silence
Are they going through this too?
Seeing loved ones faces
Looming in the dark
Brings back my suffering
On my soul it leaves a mark
Crawling through the despair
Is harder every day
Wallowing in self-pity
Is what I’ll do today
If tomorrow comes
And ceases my existence
It will only be a blessing
On my otherwise tortured life
For what is to come
Can only be better than this
This cage of chaos
May soon do me in
