Anticipating Precipitation

Spread and naked on my chenille blanket,
I have waited too long for you to climb into my window
on the first floor of my big white house.
I have had too long to think on the two of us,
the curious images, the fabulous painting we would make.
I am filled with a cloud of precipitation.
I am dripping in
and out of conscienceness.
Finally you come.
I have had too long to anticipate this moment.
I am ready; let us brew a storm together.
Let us make our own warm front.
Let us sweep across the west dropping perspiration,
our groans, thunder, the sparkle of our eyes, lightening.
We should ride in a chariot of clouds across the sky.
We should beat and whip our horses, begging "Faster!"
We should color the sky with heat,
We should make the constellations avert their stary eyes.
Let us shame the heavens!
Look! The sky! She winks at us!
It is a knowing look.
