We've always been good friends,
Although, I've never understood why.
It's like the planets were aligned when we met.
We grew up together,
Playing ball, Eating ice cream,
Shootin' the breeze.
But one day,
Things changed.
You discovered that I was different.
I was a girl.
Now I think I love you.
But I have to live with the terrible news.
Your moving across the country,
I may never see you again.
I have told you of my love,
I'm not sure how you respond.
It's hard to tell.
So, for you, I will do one thing,
One thing I would never do,
For anyone else.
On the day you move,
I will cut my hair.
I will cut my hair for you.
You've always loved my hair,
My hair that brushes the back of my knees,
It's curly and shiny.
My hair, you've run your fingers through so many times.
I will only do this for you,
because I love you.
Because, you are my Immortal.
