LOVE IS ALWAYS FAITHFUL

Contributed by lovingcritters on Saturday, 14th February 2004 @ 09:04:40 PM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

Her beauty surpassed the most beautiful.
Her three brothers saved her from
being blameful.
Watching over the grape vineyards
for her family, became her full time job.
All alone, love found her in the gardens,
her heartthrob.

They lovingly caressed, kissed,
betrothed their devotion.
From that moment on, her deep
heart's love, n'er unfasten!
In the vineyards, the noon day sun
kissed her already olive skin.
Darker beauty still, and her goodness within.

This story took place, far removed
from me, bygone.
In the middle East near, what
is now known as Lebanon
A huge Temple lined with gold,
and it's owner a King.
This King lacking not one thing, but he
wanted her so badly, his arms
were found aching!

Their most unique praises of
passion could be heard.
Speaking of devotion, the language of love,
a soft spoken word.
He compares her beauty to plants,
animals, and precious stones.
With over 60 queens and 80 concubines,
he bemoans..........

"Look you are beautiful, Oh girl
companion of mine.
Your eyes are like those of doves
behind your veil so fine.
Your teeth are like the drove of freshly
shorn ewes, that have gone up from washing
Your lips are like the scarlet thread,
and your speaking is a blessing."

"But Your honorable Sir, Dear King,
I love another.
A black girl am I, comely, I love
a Shepherd boy, after.
He speaks of me as a low saffron,
a lily among weeds.
All night I dream about my lover,
and finding him, for his loves exceeds!"

The King then offers her gold circlets of gold.
Also silver studs among her hair ,
and around her neck, beads you will behold.
Then he invites her into his inner chambers,
"Look you are beautiful my dear one, you
are beautiful, also pleasant, my divan
of dreamers.....Is this not so?"

Then her Shepherd boy returns, and
devotedly tells her of his love for his bride,

"Your two breasts are young ones, like the
twins of a female gazelle.
Until the day breathes, and the
shadows have fled.
I shall go up my way to the mountain of
myrrh and to the hill of frankincense
to dwell!
You have made my heart beat,
Oh sister my bride.........
How much better your expressions
of endearment are, than that of wine.
The fragrance of your oils better
than perfume, divine!"

"With comb honey, your lips keep dripping,
Oh my bride, honey and milk are under
your tongue, and the fragrance of your
garments is like the fragrance of Lebanon!
A garden barred in, a spring sealed up.
Your skin is a paradise of pomegranates with
choicest of fruits, that I may sup."

She continues to turn down the Kings
advances, because of her devotion to her
beloved Shepherd boy....
She laments, "My dear one is dazzling,
and ruddy, the most conspcious of ten
thousand, my joy!
His head is gold like refined gold,
and his hair, the locks, are like date clusters.
His eyes are like doves beside
channels of water, which are bathing
themselves in milk, sitting within the
rims of pleasures!"

She continues to speak of her beloved....
"I have placed a seal upon my heart,
upon on my own arm,
For I will grant him exclusive devotion
through any harm!
Many waters themselves cannot distinquish
true love, nor can rivers wash it away!
If a man would give all of his valuable things
of his house for love, people would hate
them to this day!"

She continues to take her stand and remains
loyal and faithful to the end.
The King finally realizes it is to no avail, so
she,away he would send.

Then her Shepherd Boy once again says,
"Run away my dear one and make yourself
like a Gazelle upon the mountain of spices!

The King sends her away with this message,
"Go to your beautiful lover, be with him,
the one that entices!"

If you were offered all the gold and silver
in the whole world,
And the love of a beautiful young King
like Soloman, unfurled.........
Could you resist the temptations he used
to draw her to his bosom?
Her loving devotion to the end enhances
the beauty of this poem,
It's known as the "Book of Soloman"
taken from the Bible.

"The next time you to read this
Superlative Song of Solomon.....
Remember that the little dark girl is
pictured as God's faithful people.....and the
Sun is pictured as God that wams her, and
helps her stay faithful.
The shepherd boy is Christ Jesus,
the son of God,
And the King is pictured as the worldly
enticements that can draw us away from
the love and devotion we must have our God!

"It's a most passionate book of love, in fact,
it can actually be called a very endearing
song of love, read it some day,
I know you will enjoy it!:"

I have read The Song Of Solomon...it is indeed beautiful...what I gained from it is a lesson in loyalty and chastity...much lacking in todays world.

What better way to teach of true love and devotion. Our love for family/friends/husbands/wife and first and foremost our beloved God. In Him anything is possible.
