LA series part 6

Contributed by merry on Saturday, 14th February 2004 @ 05:25:44 PM in AEST
Topic: StoryPoetry

the pick up truck didn't fit the scene
until he drove into town
too good looking for his own good
there were promises and offers
but he played hard to get
and took it on the chin
landed that indie film in '86
nobody ever heard of him again
until last year
he reappeared, grizzled
there was demand for the type
so he works again

she spends all her time by the pool
dreaming about being in love
he finds her sleeping in the afternoon
the dogs haven't been fed
and that ticks him off
she's spoiled and he knows it
too young for her own good
and thinks he should know better
but he doesn't and shrugs it off

they are independent elements in hollywood's elite
now they have acquired a sheen of star appeal
he's uncertain about a lot of things
she reconciles her checkbook with acute accuracy
he avoids his reflection and prefers anonymity
