She was as a tender flower,
Blooming in the early spring.
Such innocence, such kindness of heart,
Such a fragile thing.
From some other world than mine,
So trusting and naive.
A perfect mark for me (poor thing),
So easy to deceive.
All of nineteen years and,
Still so nonjudgmental.
The love she showed for everyone,
So cutely sentimental.
I knew I could win her over,
By masking my rascalinity:
This was a natural for me,
- Hiding my true identity.
It was such an easy thing,
Manipulating her pure heart.
I feel guilty even now but,
Not sorry I played the part.
I'm amazed that I found her,
Such a plum for the picking.
I could tell she had no suspicion,
By her later puzzled thinking.
Talk about confusion,
Of tremendous size and scope,
Yet, she overcame the shock of me,
And even learned to cope.
Changing this wild ass,
Into a somewhat tamer beast.
And although much, much later,
even fitting me with a leash.
But I still have a grip on
This relationship, you see,
I only give in,just enough,
To keep her here with me.
We've heard of all the virtues,
Love, meekness, kindness, grace;
I'm reminded of them all,
When I look into her face.
I know its oft' been said,
that opposites attract:
Well, with us, Im sure,
Its a very well known fact.
In raising our four children,
She was the perfect mother.
For that steadfast love,
We shall always adore her.
God, in his great wisdom,
Seems to give us what we need:
In this,Our family's case,
We're convinced its true indeed.
I shudder when I contemplate,
What would have been my end,
If I had not met Sherry,
My love, my wife, my friend.
Sherry my dear, I confess,
And to the world, I swear its true:
The day I became complete,
Was the day that I met you.
You would not deceive someone,
The way that I did you:
But I did what I had to do,
To win your love, so true.

I love your honest confession. So beautiful in its honesty. I feel sure that she did too.
