The Cover
~~~~~~~~~
In a fairytale land
I can see myself
So full of hope and light
I'm in a book from upon my shelf.
I've read this story many times
But this time's not the same.
I'm in a place of bright pink skies
And clouds of purple rain.
I feel really at home here
I wish I could stay forever
But I know this fantasy will end
As soon as I close the cover.
I know I have to go home
So before I close the cover
I will walk around this beautiful land
To see what things I may discover.
As I'm walking down a deep blue path
I see a wonderful thing off to the side
A big lake made of dandelions
And a pale orange bunny trying to hide.
"My, what a strange place this is!"
With unicorns of heights above my head.
I'd hate to let this journey end here
But it's time for me to go to bed.
As I close the cover
I wondered what the rest of this land was like
So I tucked myself in and close my eyes
And dreamt about that place all night.
My dreams were pretty vivid
But I want to read the book until the end
So tomorrow night before I go to sleep
I'll be reading it again.
