Laughter In The Night

A man in life may see it all,
And feel content alone,
But when love left my weary heart,
I felt my soul had gone.
Companions go and leave me bare,
For none but me to see,
This life of solitude I lead,
In this prison I cannot flee.
But now through raging tears of hurt,
I just might see a light,
To luminate my blackened soul,
With laughter in the night.
A friend to gain if nothing more,
To lend her welcome ears,
A friend to gain and hopefully more,
To pass the coming years.
