A walk through the forest

Topic: NaturePoetry

Walking through the forest
Songs from birds
Ringing in my ears
The longer I walk
I am further from my fears

Stopping for a second
Looking high into the trees
Suddenly finding myself
Dropping to my knees

A tear rolling down my cheek
I kneel here
Pondering what I seek

The birds, The trees, The wind
All sweet sounds to my ears
Realizing I seek the memories
Of all the passing years

I lean forward
Placing one hand on the ground
Looking into a stream
That makes a relaxing sound

The water trickling
Moving across the land
I find myself
Placing down my other hand

My eyes grow weary
I lay down on my side
Feeling so relaxed
From the forest in which I confide

Peace takes over my body
As I lay here asleep
So relaxed and dreaming
As the birds and animals peep

A forest can be a dreamland
That will take your worries away
It will make you relaxed
You will have nothing more to say

Now I have awaken
And time has passed me by
I will continue my walks in the forest
Until the day I die

Keep up the good work..

I like hiking so of course I would like this poem...and I did, thank you.

I started writing a poem about hiking through a forest at night in the winter...there was snow on the ground. I thought it was turning out well and somehow lost everything I had written down. Bummer. This kind of inspired me to possibly start working on it again. Thank you.

Tim
