The life that night claimed

Hold my angel and don’t let go
He whispered and the wind would blow
Huddled by the small fire
As the winds went higher
Is this the end the poor man thought
After all the time he’d fought
The rages he wares let’s end the cold
Death announces it’s strong hold
He holds his little dog near
He holds it tight and is filled with fear
He doesn’t want to die
He lets go one last sigh
So short a life that now does end
Upon the streets filled with sin
A smile does now grace his face
He has gone to a better place
