A moment stirred
An echo heard
I await the ending of my pain
A silent cry
Another day goes by
And nothing to have gain
A moments notice
A knock on the door
My head tilts toward the floor
It’s the final hour
And a friend walks in
Keeping me from acting a unforgiving sin
On my face
No room for a smile
I only see another day
And walk another mile
This road I walk
Unfriendly and sad
Is of experiences that were bad
Now a friend is here
And my heart sees light
Thankful to him
I will sleep another night
The sun again rises
Another day is here
And there are no echo’s in my ear
I seem to have a feeling
Coming from deep inside
A feeling that says
I must no-longer hide
I cry no more
Neither will I have thoughts in vain
I believe an end has come to my pain
So thank you friend
For your knock on my door
You have given me hope
And hunger for so much more

This is really very good. I like the style. I'm glad your friend was there for you.

It almost sounds as if I was suicidal, but I am and was not. What was being talked about in this poem was my inner feelings and How I was lost and had no idea if i would do something stupid. I was cold and lonely. At one of the lowest times in my life, a friend just happened to step in when I was at my lowest moment. Not sure what I would have done, but I know that at that point, he gave me some good advice and it changed my world. |
