Sometimes I feel shallow

Sometimes I feel low

Trapped in a dark cold wilderness

Not knowing where to go

The hands on the clock are frozen

The rain cannot reach the ground

Silence is shattered the moment

I hear your haunting sound

(Chorus)

So go ahead and play your tune

Let your words melt into my heart

The words drip around my head

When the chords begin to start

When the final word is spoken

After the final note is played

A smile spreads across my face

And then my day is made

Philosophy often tells me

How to live my life

I invade the heads of other people

To relieve me of my strife

The words they write, the words they say

Just scramble around my brain

Information overload drives me so insane

So go ahead and play your tune

Let your words melt into my heart

The words drip around my head

When the chords begin to start

When the final word is spoken

After the final note is played

A smile spreads across my face

And then my day is made

Now I am lost in your music

A moment where I transcend it all

Falling to Earth so gently

The feeling breaks my fall

Even when the feeling goes

I just rewind it to the start

Familiar sounds drip into my head

Then pour into my heart

So go ahead and play your tune

Let your words melt into my heart

The words drip around my head

When the chords begin to start

When the final word is spoken

After the final note is played

A smile spreads across my face

And then my day is made
