PAPER VALENTINE

My first name is Paper, my last Valentine.
I've been told I'm red with a lacy design.
I'm a very sad little card this year,
For no one even chose me for their dear!
I've carried love to others on my
Namesake's Day.
I was so hoping someone would
love my forte.
Tall and handsome like those to whom
I've been handed.
Someone to love me and with
his ring be banded.
The lady of the shop always sets
me high upon the shelf.
I've heard her say it, she's saving
me for herself!
I wish I could talk, then i could tell
her my wish.
I have so much love in my heart to give,
relieve me of this anguish!
Tonight I'm going to pray very hard....
"Oh Please Dear God of all Cards,
send me a love not a discard!
Please send me one with much kindness,
for I love kind men.
And, if it's not asking too much,
a brilliant craftsmen!"
"One with beautiful hands and a loving heart
Carefully and lovingly, caressing
me from the start.
Assisting me to become, no longer
Paper Valentine,
But a real live one!"
Suddenly a bright light was shone in my eyes.
I was so frightened, 'twas sure of my demise.
Instead I watched beautiful hands reach
and embrace me.
I heard him say, "Just what I've been
looking for, she's a beauty!"
When I awoke, I was sure I'd been dreaming.
I was told it would be this way,
if only I just keep asking.
What a lovely dream, until I heard him say.;
"Good Morning sweetheart.......
Happy Valentine's Day!"

and it will be given to you!

There are moments in ones life, where it is important to say the right words. Like at a wedding, the birth of a child. Instead what happens is lips begin to tremble, eyes roam the room to try to stop the tears. Thats exactly how I feel. I have lost the battle, I can't help but cry. So much to say! You know I stayed home from work today to avoid the endless valentines. A precious person (you) gave me a valentine. It was beautiful, thoughtful, perfect, touching, unforgettable and simple words cannot relay how much this has meant to me. I will keep this one forever. I hope this comment is spelled write because I can't see the screen! I loved the poem, the adorable picture, and the thoughts behind it. You made my day again! Thank you for thinking of me.
