What happened?
What happened when he opened his eyes?
After he read
All that ever is, is said
In a poem, he wrote, as a kid.
Now he lies, shutting and opening his eyes.
As down the canal he is pushed,
Silence, this soul is not rushed.
Around dreams, he curls
for today he unfurls: the verses of age.
And upon the bough, dry leaves fall.
Swept away, by the wind of rage,
aroused, by the lifting of page upon page.
Expressed in a leaf his memories are shown, swept down to the waters, to death it is blown.
That withered leaf, that was pulled from it's home,
is no longer dead,
for by God it is owned.
In it's own soul will it be grown.
The leaf is ploughed into a soil
and over time, seeds are sown.
Upon the barge's roof,
he smiles and yawns and lies.
Remembering how,
he was a dry leaf once,
and graced the skies,
striving for peace, he would fly high,
breaking to pieces, listening to a great wind sigh.
So low did he fall,
and never did the current stall,
until he knew,
God is forever.
So he just chilled,
after he read
all that ever is, is said
In a poem, he wrote, as a kid.
