12 months have gone by
Oh, how times flies!
I can still hear your cries
I can still hear your sighs
Loved ones, you have stayed strong
But I know your sorrow will remain long
You are brave in your own special way
In a safe environment filled with love,
I hope you will always stay
I feel your hurt
But to you and all the American people,
I say, I plead, I pray
Do not give in to terrorists, but stay alert
My friends, you have passed the awesome test
America, you are the very best
For when I see the American Stars and Stripes
I know that you will bring peace to this uncertain world
Ensuring every citizen has equal rights
I will light a candle come September eleven
I will pray that the victims be at peace in heaven
I will write words of encouragement to comfort you all
For I know only too well, you will pick yourselves up after a fall
Sincerely,
Raymond Anthony Fernando
