The creeping dingy fog
The toad upon the log
The owl has seen it all
And the ancient trees stand tall
I hear the weeping willow cry
As I feel the wind pass by
Then the dark seeps in
And all that was became then
Time has took me away
But there were so many reasons to stay
My love I did not prove
My dearest I did not sooth
But you said you wouldn’t care
If I was never there
You lied, now you cry
Because you learned I’d died
You never knew my end was near
Never thought you had much to fear
Now you sit here and shed your tears
Barely feeling my love still there
You sit and you stare
Can you feel me in the air
You’ve nothing to fear
Just now I’ll always be near
