your gun, my wound, your shovel, my grave

Contributed by infedelity_hurts on Thursday, 12th February 2004 @ 06:56:41 AM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

i watch you carress the cold alloy
you brush the metal against your clothes
it glides over your jacket
my eyes follow movement as your finger wraps itself around the trigger
your blood red nail polish appears to be flowing,
but that could just be a premonition,
the sight of my river of life
that will trickle to a stand still, and flow no more tonight
it would be a lie to say i didn't miss you
because you still occupy my thoughts
my subconcious is filtered with vivid images of you
so put a bullet in the chamber for each memory i treasure
and riddle my body with them
puncture my face, disillusion my affection with spiraling silver holes

so would a harsh smile break your face
if i were happy to see you?
or anger fill those eyes once stained with longing
as you willfully cock this loaded gun...?
the drawback of the hammer
similair to the steps you took to retreat away from me
you turned your back and walked away
creating a sense of distance for me and one of security for you

pressure is placed upon the final step
my grave is dug
the end inevitable
but if you handed me your weapon
i would shoot myself
to bring my end about swiftly
then bury myself in the happy memories i keep of "you and i"
are they still happy for you?
obviously not, as you pat the freshly packed mound of earth
and toss the shovel aside
i lay buried with my right arm raised
fingers extended and side by side, my wrist connects with my arm creating a right angle
but i didn't wish to stop you
no,
if my blood was flowing and my mind could process movement signals
i would be waving you goodbye, and kissing you goodnight
but my blood stains your lips and dirt fuses to my sticky cheeks
so this is my goodnight kiss...
this sweetheart,
is goodbye
