Try to Cry

Contributed by Vitreous_Soul on Thursday, 12th February 2004 @ 06:03:57 AM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

Please stare into the looking glass
Stare deep within your mind
Please tell me what lies in your heart
What sorrows do you find
Between your eyes and glass alike
Are remnants left behind

I've seen your sterling silver soul
And felt your heart of gold
I've seen the depths of your resolve
The compassion you hold
You owe this release to yourself
To melt away the cold

It will consume your existence
Like thirsting succubi
If not for me and not for you
You'll find a reason why

Looking high toward welkin sky
Again you try to cry
Orphaned child never smiled
Yet more tears compiled
A longing sigh for days gone by
Again you try to cry
Say a word for a fallen bird
Your heart, it will be heard
Final goodbye or wrongful lie
Again you try to cry
Fail to defend a cherished friend
Release your tears in the end

Please stare into the looking glass
It reflects all that you deny
Between heart and mirror alike
There exists the need
For a shoulder on which to cry

Truly moving. Your friends are extremely priveleged to have you by their side. It's good to see a withdrawal from the abundance ofadvanced diction--the best messages are oft best found in simple words. The poem is touching beyond touching... Whoever it's for will find that time, as will I.

Until then, we must search again. To find our inner peace.

""A world of dreams is shattered glass; Fragmented remains of nostalgic past."

~The Palatine Poet

Once again you made me cry. You have such a big heart and it shows in this poem. A great friend you are to have wrote this, and I hope those who need to cry, can let it all go, and just cry. Beautiful in every way. Kie
