Remember

Contributed by LaurenShields on Wednesday, 11th February 2004 @ 06:56:16 PM in AEST
Topic: Grief

There he was before me,
This once powerful man brought to his knees so easily.
With his blood covered body and broken wings,
Stiff with pain and undoubtedly weak,
Laying vulnerable and unarmed without any force of defense,
And I wonder what evil, what hate could ever do this,
Who could wound one of heaven's angel,
And leave them there,
In a puddle of crimson,
Spilt from his own body and left in shackles?
And now he rests,
Half dead in a hospital,
Shallowly breathing,
But alive and thankful.
So I pray to God and I am gracious,
My love is still with me and he was not taken.
And now we both just have one thing to ask:
That to everyone out there
Who has loved in the past,
Remember that there are lives at stake,
People to think of and hearts to break,
And when you run a red light,
Without a second thought,
It could be a life that you take,
And a loved one now lost.

Dedicated to Mohammed ...I love you baby and I'm so happy you are okay!

I just recently went through a suicide in the family, so the wounds are still very much open. It's so sad when things like this happen, and no one ever thinks it could happen to them. I am guilty as well. I'm glad things are ok..
