Death, am i

Contributed by kellros on Wednesday, 11th February 2004 @ 11:48:28 AM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

Death comes on wings of fire,
breathing down the sweaty neck of a sick child.
Death bows down and greets me,
as if i am a long lost friend.

Death knows my name,
his name was given to me.
Who am i if i am not death itself?

Robbed leather from a corpse,
was this my burial gown?
Was i layed to rest peacefully,
or dropped in a hole in the ground?

What was my life all about,
in the end it came to this
Is the intention of a life taken,
not the consequence of dying within oneself?

Why do sorrow deepin,
with every caring intention?

Greed is an everyday occurance,
while young children starve to death
They keep asking for more and more
one day i'll give them what they deserve
... death

Death of a child,
tears of a mother dripping off her cheeks,
till they turn blood red and a small part dies with the lost one

Thoughts are a gift, imagination gives you the power
to the expect the unexpected.
A single intention of love, a single rose,
if more are given, where is the attention directed?

Valentines comes but once a year,
but death is an everyday occurence.
The life i give, is the life i take,
don't waste time, for no time you can make...

The very essence of regret,
the very darkest part of my soul,
still unknown to human beings,
is where lies my goal...

You are certainly a deep thinker and a prolific writer. Out of the darkest moods often come the most and best poetry.

I have to agree with the little wisdom in this piece. Your take on life is much like mine, and I appreciate your willingness to impart your views with the rest of humanity--I've seen it all myself, but rare is the time I openly lament.

To die with no regrets--that's what everyone wants. The question was never what, but how. And no one seems to find the answer.

Commendably done.

even though i'm young, i won't recline a generous compliment... deep thinker, i might say so... this is not all, but just some that goes through a second in my mind... many more i would like to express, through poems... never thought i was a poet, i only write down that comes to me that very second, no preperation though... might think about doing that at some time.. dunno, what do you people think, is preperation neccessary?
