I'm sitting here on the balcony
On this dark and dreary night.
The light beaming from the lighthouse
Is the only light in sight.
My sailor sweetheart is out there.
Where, I do not know.
He's only been gone a week,
But it seems like so long ago.
On our last night together.
He was sitting here with me.
It was a warm moonlit night,
With millions of stars to see.
We spent most of that day,
Nestled in each others arms.
I felt so much joy and rapure,
While he showed me all his charms.
The days will go by so slowly,
Until he's in my arms once more.
There's nothing I can do, but wait,
Til he comes walking thru that door.
