My view of life is jaded
The purity and light is tainted
By pain
By fear
By emptiness
Looking in my eyes you see nothing
Every emotion carefully controlled
You see what I allow you to see
I have to protect myself
The world feeds on pain and fear
Hiding away inside my mind
The pain festers
The fear grows
The emptiness envelopes my soul
Soon there will be nothing left
My mind consumed
No more emotions to hide
As the pain eats away at my existence
I give myself to the darkness
I thought I could shut it all away
Protect myself from hurt
Instead it devoured me

Teen Angst at it's best, I should say. I was like that at one point of my life...about 4 years ago. I'm still quite young, and I feel for you. I like the rhyme scheme--I can almost hear your voice in the tone. I'm sure everyone understands, and can give sympathy for your situation.

| I KNOW THA FEELING SO WELL, WHEN YOU LOOK AT THE WORLD ONLY TO FIND THE REALITY OF NOTHINGNESS....EVERY EMOTION YOU PUSH WITHIN WILL END UP ESCAPING WITH A MASK. I DON'T BLAME YOU FOR FOR YOUR ARMOR OF SELF. I ALSO, WEAR IT WELL. WITHOUT PROTECTION -OTHERS WILL WILLINGLY & PURPOSFULLY TRY TO TEAR YOU DOWN. KEEP WRITTING. KEEP TRYING TO RELEASE YOUR PAIN. WHAT IS IT THAT MAKES YOU HURT? WHETHER YOU ADMIT IT OR NOT - YOU HAVE NOT FULLY GIVEN IN TO THIS DARKNESS........IF IT WERE TRUE, YOUR EXPRESSION - & MY UNDERSTANDING WOULDN'T EXIST........... WHATEVER IT IS THAT IS HOLDING YOU HOSTAGE WITHIN, FACE IT & DEMAND YOUR FREEDOM BACK. IT TAKES TIME.......BUT YOU KNOW YOU DESIRE TO LIVE AGAIN................I'VE WRITTEN THESE WORDS BECAUSE I REMEMBER A TIME WHEN I FELT THIS WAY.................
