Insanity's Requiem

Contributed by Shadow on Monday, 9th February 2004 @ 09:37:57 PM in AEST
Topic: psychoticpoems

The mind is a place of shadow and light
The beginning and end of all of our spite.
Welcome dear shadows my minions have come
The days of the light are finally done!

This darkness has name and do take care
You’re in insanity’s requiem O yea who dare!
It’s all in your mind and you should fear
As you drown in the river of your own tears.

Insanity’s Requiem to me is home
Here I am god! But we're not alone.
Dance my little sinful heart
Even you play a part!

For blood must we spill to justify life
To please the gods of our continuous strife.
Dance dear shadows twist and burn
Life’s little lesson you will soon learn!

Insanity’s Requiem you I adore
Give me strength O Requiem of lore!
Cackle in fire burn in hell
Dance my shadows here we may dwell!

It's fantastic, but eerily similar to my own tone and diction. Not to mention, Insanity's Requiem should be the death of insanity, which you portray the exact opposite of. Then again, sanity's requiem is such a dark title, and yours just sounds so devillishly appealing...

For a signature poem, I think it's pretty compelling.

Nicely Done.

Sanity's Requiem:
"A world of dreams is shattered glass; Fragmented remains of nostalgic past."
~The Palatine Poet
