An Irish Dream

Contributed by Merry on Monday, 9th February 2004 @ 05:36:16 PM in AEST
Topic: fantasy

______________________________
You have tasted sadness
Drunk from the loving cup
Some poisonous concoction
That was not meant to sup

Sleep in sweet repose tonight
Sail on dreams of tenderness
Into the realm of magic float
To find the one that loves you best

Search the land both high and low
Across the ancient hillocks fly
In circles seek the perfect love
With the sharpened eagle’s eye

Through dreamers shadowed sight
He calls to you from down below
The song an old familiar one
You’re heart warns you not to go

His jet black eyes and raven hair
Angus Mac Og he claims to be
He plays so fine and looks so fair
Will you come and sit by me me

The fever of a troubled dream
Leaves you stranded in the dark
Takes you past his brugh on the bank
Where he steals your gentle heart
