Slipping

Slipping, stumbling
On the edge
Can't keep from falling.
Darkness in my heart
And on my hands
Settling on my world.
Never escape
From my pain
But hide in my shell.
Who really thinks
They know me
Won't you please stand up!
How do you know me
Smiling and laughing,
Or cynical and cold?
So which one knows me
TELL ME NOW
If you really think you know!
I've tried so very hard
To hide in a mask
So this world might want me.
Yet no matter how
Or what I do
No one sees my worth --- What worth?
The people I once though
So dear to me
Now hold me at arms length.
And those I couldn't
Even stand before
Are the only ones left to see my pain.

This is a really good poem better than anything that I will ever write. Keep writing what you feel and never let anybody tell you different cause it happened to me. |
