Every nook and cranny
spotless and clean
a speck of dust?
Ha! none to find.
Not a wrinkle or a spot
not a speck of dirt
on a flower pot
striving in everything perfect.
Grass mowed twice a week
careful inspection of pets
for ticks and fleas
it rains but her car
nope would never show it.
A smile though she was sad
a laugh I knew she was mad
she bent and twisted
to do everything her best
to no avail how could she pass the test.
Its been sad to watch
this over the years
it was pounded in her
up to her ears
perfection perfection perfection.
Iv watched pieces of her
fall away while she was gone astray
to pick at it and catch a tiny ray
of her pieces of perfection.
It cant be done
there is no such thing
perfect in everything
seems out of reach
if only I could make her see
that she is perfect as she is to me!

Dear,
This is an exceptional poem, and while reading it, I couldn't help but think of my Mother! Poor dear.....everything had to be absolutely perfect. Used to drive me up a wall. And then I found a comparison, and that was Jesus. He was a perfect man, and yet he never went to extremes with anything...he was moderate in all of his ways! That made me feel better.....and know that she was not right......she made everyone including herself miserable! And this person probably had a mother just like mine. It's a horrible curse.....but you poem was so endearing....I know you will help her all you can!
