life and that tear

Contributed by echomywurdz on Saturday, 7th February 2004 @ 03:06:33 AM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

if you ever think that your life is short
take a minute or two to think and reconsider

I mean think of the life of a tear
its life happens in only a matter of seconds

one second its not even there,
but its always waiting ready to be born
and when it is, as soon as it knows it you need it there
it leaves your eyes only to run down your face

and then...it dies
this tear of yours really had no life
it had dozens of reasons to be born,
but it could only briefly live with the intention it had when it was born

so you see when you compare your life to that tear,
you've lived ages longer than it ever would unless it was remarkably frozen in time
but in the end when it comes down to me, I'm just like that tear
when i was born i had a meaning, but i can only briefly live that out

and though we didn't live for long
someone will always remember why we were first placed here
but for now we are both running for our life

Me And My Tear
savor yours when its there
