Lifepoems

This quiet plunder fills me below
Knowing that I am not water, not stone
That I am simply flesh and bone
Time too soon will run over my beauty
And poison my youth so wickedly.
Life itself, is like playing cards with the universe
All you need is the right hand
But lady luck is stuck in traffic on the 405
In this modern day wasteland
Where my voice struggles above thousands
Shouting the profanities of a bitter tongue
The words of a life misspent.
To know that fortune leads eventual suffering
In the thought of what is left behind
Such great expectations tapped dry
Those dreams left unaccounted for
It is to know when you die
That life is like snowfakes on your tongue
Falling, falling, fallen
Too quick to melt away.

This is a very good poem. It makes one think, for that is what life is like, without hope of something more.
Take care.
