Castles In The Sky

Topic: EmotionalPoetry

You think that I don't care
That I'm lost in my despair
That I don't stop to think of you
And nothing I say is true
You think that I crave death
That I won't stop to take a breath
That I'm never happy at all
And I'm just waiting to fall

But what you don't understand is that
Behind every tear I cry
Is a bath of love I'm drowning in
In every angry word I scream
Is an endless sea of need
And the truth I never tell is this
Behind every face I wear
Is a girl who's hiding from the world
In every defeated word I pen
Is a silent cry for help

I'm a little selfish
But I have only one wish
You're all I really want and need
And from these binds I'll be freed
I'm a little too quick
To put up walls of steel and brick
I only need a helping hand
And a solid place to stand

'Cause what you don't understand is that
After everything I've lost
All I've felt and been too numb to feel
I'm lost within a broken dream
All I've built has fallen down
The truth I've never told you is this
Sometimes I miss yesterday
And I want my life before you back
'Cause when I threw this all away
Somehow the sky seemed so much bigger

But you're all I really care about
Sometimes you make me forget
Everything that makes me cry in vain
If I don't mean the things I say
It's only 'cause I have no words
The air shines and sparkles around you
My world is more beautiful
When I see it from within your eyes
My broken dreams are whole again
And I build new castles in the sky

This poem really touched me. Pain, sadness, inner reflection and the ending was perfect. I think you did really well with this one. Kie
