Broken friendship

Topic: SadPoetry

I trusted you so easily
I believed all the lies you told
By my side you would stand
Give me a helping hand
Maybe I asked too much of you
Maybe it was me who failed
I expected something you could not give
I only wanted a true friend
Now I feel so alone
You don’t even know the pain I’m in
When I finally decided to ask for help
Your back was all you gave to me
You say you understand
You say you will help me live
But don’t worry, I understand
You were just too busy
I was selfish I know
Thought only of my woes
I tried to be a friend in return
But it was a task I couldn’t finish
If you took a knife to my heart
The pain would be less
Than that you have caused
By the little you have said
But it’s okay, I’m not mad
I tend to read between the lines
See stuff that isn’t really there
This burden is fully mine to bare

okay, I know the pain your poem tells.....I've almost lost a friend, but I managed to fix it and she told me later that she knew we had broken up just to get back together sooner or later and since that time I've totally believed in friendship :)
sursum corda! ;)

We have many friendships in life. some short and some seemly forever or long in life. I have been thru many different friendships. I keep most of them, even if they are short or long distance, but there have been a very few that really tore me apart. For this, I have learned to give, but not as generous of my heart, but wary of my soul and also those that like to just take and not give back. All kinds of folks, all kinds of friendships, deserve the respect put into them, and back. When its either temporairly broken, you both need time away from eachother to see what you both were doing. Neither one should take all the blame, for sometimes, blame is not just for both, but more so the act of not being there anymore, and feeling the pain of loosing a friend, the things you use to do together comes close to the heart indeed. After a while, she/he will approach you, or you will do the approaching and just kind of be together again. They might not even realize just how thier being so busy is upsetting you, and they are not there for you. Many times we put so many other events in our lives we tend to forget those in our lives, our family and friends, those that depend on us. Its done so easily and yet, not so done in a demeaning way, it just happened. They might just need reminding of their time spent with you, and maybe with you not there, they might realize it now. Time is always a culprit of anything in life. we need it to let things heal and ride out the angry waves before we regret anything we might not really want to say.
Nice write and hope all will work out in time. Take care,
AMber Rose Yeager :)

They are many kinds of friends in the world. I have had many lousy ones as well as loyal and trustworthy ones. My poem 'When Friendship Dies' sums up pretty much.

Your words stop me cold, they all ring true, but believe me there was nothing you could do. People trust and people use, and people use people only to amuse. True Friendship is rare and never fades through out time or travel. Thank you for sharing your heart.

We have all been there. What a touching story.
