THE BEACON

I needed a beacon
In my absence of light.
As I was taking my journey
In the darkness of night.
While I was straightway traveling
To a place I’ve never been,
I was suddenly near blinded
By your light that shone right in!
When I could finally see again,
I opened up my eyes.
And when at last I saw you,
My, how you tantalized!
Now if anyone should ever come
And ask me while I’m speaking,
Just what to do in darkness too,
I’ll tell them find a beacon.
