Singled Out

Contributed by rawkergurl2003 on Thursday, 5th February 2004 @ 11:30:15 PM in AEST
Topic: mystical

A little boy sits alone
Along a jagged curb,
He wonders why it’s been so long
Since his mother has been gone.
He ponders the meaning of the rose
That’s wilted and forgotten.
There are so many over there
But this one’s singled out.
Then he sees a single bird
Perching on the roof
He wonders why it’s sitting there,
Picking at its food.
Finally his eyes have found
A little tiny ant,
Now this one seems to be
Far behind the marching group
That continues on ahead.
And as this little boy sits alone
He wonders why he’s there,
Why he is seeing all these objects
Being singled out.
Then a thought comes to his head
He has confirmed it once again
The only reason he’s alone
Is no one sees the ghosts.
